Work done during the partnership between the Ministry of Preschool Education and UNICEF

In 2018-2021, many projects were implemented in cooperation with UNICEF, the main of which are:

I. Technical assistance in the development and reproduction of the state program “First Step”.
In 2018, UNICEF (with international and local education experts) assisted in developing and increasing the state requirements for the development of early and preschool children, as well as the First Step curriculum (10,000).
A training kit (module) for trainers on the implementation of the state requirements and the state curriculum “First Step” for preschool education, as well as teaching materials to support the implementation of these materials were developed;
In collaboration with UNICEF and the Ministry of Preschool Education, a series of training seminars were held to train 31 teachers on the implementation of the First Step State Curriculum and state requirements for the development of early and preschool children.
In August 2020, the development of 6 manuals was completed to support the implementation of the First Step curriculum.
II. Assistance in the development and implementation of the OpenEMIS program for education management and information production.
April 1, 2018 – OpenEMIS program was developed and implemented with the financial support of UNICEF.
III. Support for the modeling of alternative and innovative pre-school education services.
UNICEF conducted a need assessment of alternative forms of preschool education in remote areas of the country, identified two areas with the lowest coverage of preschool children: rural areas of Khorezm region (Bagat, Koshkopir districts), Namangan region (Kasan, Naryn districts).
IV. Assist in the development of professional standards for preschool teachers.
February 14, 2020 – in the framework of the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Preschool Education” dated December 16, 2019 with the technical assistance of UNICEF organized a roundtable on the development of professional standards for preschool educators;
V. Assistance in developing a system for evaluating the quality of education.
In collaboration with UNICEF and the State Inspectorate for Education Quality Control, a system for evaluating the quality of the educational process for the quality of education has been developed, and a system for evaluating key indicators has been approved. The concept of creating colorful art booklets for preschool children was developed, based on which books were created and recommended for publication.
